RIVER RANGE WOLVERENE

River Range Wolverene is our first and very much loved Warmblood Stallion.  We purchased Wolf from River Range Wamblood Stud at only a few weeks old, not because we were looking for a colt but because we absolutely fell in love with him.  Although his performance career didn’t reach the heights we had hoped for, he has never disappointed us. 

Broken in just prior to Australia’s Equine Influenza outbreak, he had to sit in a paddock doing nothing for 2 years – no riders, vets or farriers.  Then when he was 6 years old, along came a very young (18) green rider, Matthew Lord, who was boarding with us while he was going to Gatton College and felt he’d really like to try riding him.  They had a couple of very enjoyable and successful years competing up to medium level before a severe paddock injury, which nearly severed the tendon in Wolf’s hind leg effectively put an end to his competition career.   

He has a wonderful easygoing temperament, and the type of character that makes him a favourite with everyone.  His foals are everything we hoped, very quiet and stunning movers.  He is a great cross for thoroughbreds and lightweight types.
